Rwenzori mountain National Park (RMNP) was gazetted a National Park on July 1st 1991 and was inscribed on to a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1994. The Rwenzori ranges stretch ranges stretch 100Km long and 50Kms wide; the ranges rise up to about 5109M ASL –Margherita peak. RMNP has an area of about 996Kms with eco system ranging from dense rain forest, bamboo, heather, alpine ecosystems and the snow/glacier fields.
