A great home for the Orphaned Chimpanzees! Surrounded by the calm waters of Lake Victoria, lays a home of over 48 great orphaned apes. Ngamba Island is a chimpanzee sanctuary well known for collection of orphaned and endangered chimpanzees all over the country.
Depart to Ngamba Island 23km from the shores of Lake Victoria from 9:00-10:00 am or 12:00-1:00 pm which are the only shifts available to the island and a few visitors are allowed per day!
Start your excursion with a wonderful boat cruise on your way to the scenic island. Upon arrival you shall encounter rapid waters, a variety of bird, plant and tree species, reptiles like snakes. Lunch will be had at the island as we enjoy the great scenery of Lake Victoria.
There is no great feeling like watching the chimpanzees feed, play and do all sorts of things in their environment. At a close range around 11:00 am and 3:00 pm watch the chimpanzees feeding! What better way to back up your day than enjoying the scenic view of the mighty Lake Victoria?
